Production of copper in Peru rose 4.7% on year to 1,175,093 tn in Jan-Jun, according to the latest data released by the country's mining ministry. Production of zinc rose 12.6% on year to 708,011 tn during the period, while output of lead fell 2.5% on year to 151,700 tn, according to the data. Peru is the third largest producer of copper and the second largest producer of zinc in the world.
