Futures contracts of guar seed and guar gum on the NCDEX fell due to forecast of rains in east Rajasthan. Rains are likely in Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts in the next three to four days, which is likely to help growth of the sown crop and augment output. Prices also fell due to higher acreage under the crop in the domestic and overseas market. Acreage under guar in 2017 so far in Rajasthan is estimated at 2.41 mln ha as on Jul 31 as compared to 1.59 mln ha a year ago. Rajasthan is the largest producer of the guar in the country. In Jodhpur, guar seed traded at 3,500-3,550 rupees per 100 kg, down 10-20 rupees from Saturday. Most spot markets were closed on Monday due to Raksha Bandhan.
