Gold futures hit a two-month high of $1,294.90 an ounce on the COMEX today due to geopolitical tensions between the US and North Korea. The December gold contract was up 0.2% at $1,292.10 an ounce. Gold notched the third consecutive day of gains as US and North Korea exchanged harsh words. This resulted in increased safe haven buying of gold.
