The Sensex is up 237.10 points or 0.9 percent at 26002.24 and the Nifty is up 75.25 points or 0.9 percent at 8004.35. About 1118 shares have advanced, 293 shares declined, and 40 shares are unchanged.
Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Maruti, ONGC and Tata Steel are top gainers while NTPC, Bharti Airtel, Dr Reddy's Labs, HDFC Bank and L&T are losers in the Sensex.
