The yen rose against the US dollar, as investors rushed towards safe-haven assets after geopolitical tensions in the Korean peninsula escalated. Earlier today, North Korea threatened to fire medium-to-long range rockets on the US Pacific territory of Guam, where US strategic bombers are based. The move came hours after US President Donald Trump threatened North Korea with "fire and fury”. The greenback edged lower globally, as tension in the Korean peninsula hit the risk appetite of investors.
