Pakistan had emerged as a largest buyer of Indian cotton but at present Pakistan is raising voices against imports. Pakistan
Cotton Ginners Association or the PCGA has demanded complete ban on imports of
cotton yarn from India. From
last two years, China has reduced purchases of cotton from India but it has
been balanced by the export of cotton yarn to Pakistan. If the Pakistan
government agrees on the demand of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association then
there will be pressure on cotton prices in the domestic market.
